let me introduce myself:

Hi there,

my name is Olga Grodniewicz, I’m an Art Curator & Museum Professional currently based in Krakow, Poland. I’ve been in love with museums for as long as I can remember. That’s why I decided to get started with this blog. I’d like to become your personal Museum Assistant and share my passion for museums & exhibitions with you.

I was lucky enough to have been raised in a family that knew the importance of art and culture. Being a five-year-old kid I was a frequent guest of museums and galleries. I remember how amazed I was by a retrospective of Andy Warhol, and by an intimate display of Albrecht Dürer’s prints. Reading descriptions of exhibits seemed like a travel to me. To be honest, a pretty surreal one. Petersburg, London, Paris, Berlin. I was wondering if I will ever see those places, like, really? I wanted to travel just like pictures and sculptures do. And I wanted to see more of them.

Why did I decide to write a blog on museums & exhibitions? Because I’d like to share my experience and passion with you. I had been visiting museums as an amateur before I began my academic training (MA in Art Education) and discovered that Art Curating is extactly what I’d like to do professionally. For at least 5 years I have been looking at exhibitions and collections from a different perspective. When I go to a museum I search for inspiration and stimulation of creativity. I already have a few favourite places and visit them regularly, but what I enjoy most is discovering new, totally unexpected ones. I’d love to tell you about my museum adventures as well as to get to know yours. museum assistant is a place for recommendations, tips and opinions. I will be more than happy to answer your questions and exchange ideas with you. Stay tuned!
